Entertainment and Youth Empowerment
This flagship program focuses on identifying, nurturing, and promoting young talents in music, dance, acting, comedy, and other creative arts within Kakuma Refugee Camp and the surrounding host communities.
Core Activities
Our program nurtures young talent through open auditions, talent shows, and scouting to discover gifted youth. We provide training and mentorship in songwriting, dancing, acting, stage performance, and media production, while also offering live performances,
recordings, and promotions through social media, radio, and events.
By fostering creative collaborations across genres, we encourage teamwork and diverse expression. Beyond the arts, we equip youth with life skills in leadership, communication, peacebuilding, and entrepreneurship, while using creative platforms to raise
awareness on key social issues such as gender equality, mental health, drug prevention, and environmental conservation.
Impact
Our initiative equips youth with artistic and professional skills that enable them to generate income while building confidence, self-esteem, and overall mental well-being. By engaging them in positive and structured activities, we reduce idleness
and negative coping behaviors, providing a healthy outlet for creativity and personal growth.
The program also fosters community cohesion by bringing together diverse groups through shared cultural experiences. In addition, it creates opportunities for future employment, partnerships, and even regional or global exposure for outstanding
talents, helping young people turn their creativity into meaningful and sustainable careers.
